Everything from software to hardware, bank and other personals, are kept on Data Guardian. It is so flexible... make more info items or delete unwanted items from each page. It is so easy. I have made templates for each category so I can quickly add another webpage or another piece of software. Whatever it is, I can have all the vitals for it logged so that I can quickly get to them in the future. I have not found any program that would replace Data Guardian and all that it can do for me.
I have owned Data Guardian for many years but stopped using it to go with 1Password, which was a great password manager until Agile Web Solutions went the yearly subscription route which dramatically increased the cost of the application. I then switched to Minimalist which offered a one-time purchase. Unfortunately Minimalist will no longer be updated and application support will end on August 1, 2026. While I loved Minimalist, I am moving everything over to Data Guardian since the program has been around for years and I have a lifetime license. The Apple Passwords app is a good alternative, but does not currently offer the ability to create my own fields and limits the number of characters that are allowed in a note field. I really loved creating secure notes, and Minimalist and Data Guardian are great applications for doing that. I have not yet found a way to allow Data Guardian to automatically fill usernames and passwords on websites, so I am still relying on Minimalist and Apple Passwords apps for that feature.
I've been using this product for years and enjoy the piece of mind it brings that I have a secure vault for my personal information. My only criticism is the licensing activation. I rebuild my computers more than once a year and getting my product reactivated is sometimes a hassle.
I've used Data Guardian over the last few years regularly. It's my ultimate safe for passwords and stuff. I also use 1-Password in conjunction with it for filling in forms etc. But Data Guardian gives me the confidence to store all my personal details and high security passwords in one place.
Been using it forever. Love it!
I've been a customer for over ten years, harking back to the days of Password Retriever. Obviously I'm very pleased. I find Data Guardian much easier to used than the competition. One problem I do encounter is the confusion is updating my DG license and the occasional difficulty in having to reregister DG after updating to the latest version. Hopefully, that problem has been resolved. But the license web page is still confusing to me. That being said, DG is still my "go to" repository for my logins and passwords.
Totally customizable to your needs. I've needed a program like this for a while but could never find exactly what I needed. Data Guardian ended up being the end of the road for me, and I absolutely recommend it to anyone out there who is still searching.
I have used Data Guardian for over 10 years now to store my most confidential and important data. I like it for it's blowfish encryption that gives me confidence that my confidential data is safe, it is straightforward to use and I can easily sync it with my iPhone
In the early days of public internet use (1995 or so) you could have one password for all things that needed a password, so it was easy to remember. Not so now. The less complicated a password is, the more likely it is that someone might get into your stuff. Programs like Data Guardian became necessary to keep track of all those odd passwords. While there are other programs for tracking passwords, Data Guardian was one of the first, and I have always like the features and customer support. I have tried other programs but find Data Guardian to be the easiest to work with.
It fulfills all of my data management needs, and is easy to use and navigate. What more can I say?
