In the early days of public internet use (1995 or so) you could have one password for all things that needed a password, so it was easy to remember. Not so now. The less complicated a password is, the more likely it is that someone might get into your stuff. Programs like Data Guardian became necessary to keep track of all those odd passwords. While there are other programs for tracking passwords, Data Guardian was one of the first, and I have always like the features and customer support. I have tried other programs but find Data Guardian to be the easiest to work with.

Formerly I used other databases, like AppleWorks, FileMaker, Bento. But years ago I started using DataGuardian and I still am using it because it is quite simple, has many possibilities and doesn't cost a fortune. Some time I could use DataGuardian on my iPad, and it made the program much more profitable, but Koingo discontinued the iOS-version. I am waiting DataGuardian coming back to use it on my iPad and iPhone!

This application has been around for many, many years and served my purposes for keeping track of not only passwords, but important and very private notes. I can even use it to log small bits of information, such as when a credit card is lost, or whom I talked to to resolve an issue, or how I may have more than one password for an account, etc. It's very customizable, which I love. I also like that it works on both my Mac and my iPhone, though syncing between the two is still not really automatic. But it still needs to support fingerprint logins on iPhone 6 and newer, and could improve the display of information on small computer screens. Overall, still my best go-to password application for Mac and iPhone.

Everything from software to hardware, bank and other personals, are kept on Data Guardian. It is so flexible... make more info items or delete unwanted items from each page. It is so easy. I have made templates for each category so I can quickly add another webpage or another piece of software. Whatever it is, I can have all the vitals for it logged so that I can quickly get to them in the future. I have not found any program that would replace Data Guardian and all that it can do for me.

I'd been using Data Guardian for more than a year and has been quite useful to store confidential information , not only password of sites, but also important documents, and notes. In this time I'd changed my Mac more than one time and always one of the first things that I do is to copy the dataguardian files to the new system in order to been able to access to the information. DataGuardian is a good and easy tool to store all this information securely
